Security Checks When Connecting from Domestic to International Flights

Because security screening standards for international flights are different to those for domestic flights, passengers who have already undergone security checks at an airport in Japan will be required to undergo screening again at Narita Airport when connecting to an international flight.

We ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Meeting Friends and Going Outside the Airport During Your Waiting Time

Domestic arriving passengers connecting to international flights may meet friends or leave the terminal building until their flight is ready to board as long as they are yet to complete departure procedures. However please arrive at the outbound passport control area with plenty of time to spare as departure procedures could get congested.

Customers using the rapid transit system for faster and more convenient connections in Terminal 1 will not be able to meet friends outside because their connections will be completed without going out through inbound passport control. Please inquire at your airline counter for information on conditions for use of the rapid transit system.
