Increased Airport Security During Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Passenger, baggage and general airport security will be increased at Narita International Airport for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games from Sunday, 11 July to Thursday, 9 September.
During this time, please allow plenty of time when coming to the airport. Thank you for your cooperation.
Security screening checkpoints may be congested during this period and, therefore, we ask that you arrive at the airport early.
Please check the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism website for information on precautions to observe in relation to security screening.
The closure of coin lockers will commence on Monday, 12 July and all lockers will be unavailable from Wednesday, 21 July to Tuesday, 7 September.
Some restrictions will apply to the use of garbage containers during the period.

Should you see a suspicious individual or object, please notify the nearest security or police officer.
Also, please be aware that pick up and set down vehicle locations in Narita Airport will be subject to change during the increased security period.
