Design Toilets Open at Two Locations in Terminal 1
Renovation of all restrooms at Narita Airport has been underway since March 2017, to accommodate the ongoing increase of foreign visitors. All passenger terminal restrooms follow Universal Design principles with such conveniences as audio guidance, flush lights, and L-shaped handrails.
Design toilets with state-of-the-art fixtures and functions are now available along passenger movement lines where restrooms are frequently used.
The renovation of all 148 toilets in the airport will be completed in March 2020.

- Design toilets are multipurpose restrooms that include an ostomate sink, a diaper changing table, and a changing platform in addition to regular toilet facilities.
