Jetstar Japan will launch a new service to Kochi on Wednesday, 19 December!
Kochi is famous as the birthplace of Ryoma Sakamoto and has many scenic locations including a statue of Sakamoto at Katsurahama as well as Muroto Cape and Shimanto River. Located in the southern part of Shikoku, lying between the Shikoku Mountains to the north and the Pacific in the south, it is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty. There are a vast number of activities to enjoy, including standup paddle boarding, rafting, and whale watching in the beautiful seas, mountains and rivers. There is plenty to do and see for young and old alike with the Yosakoi festival held every summer as well as the Sunday market which stretches back over 300 years to the Edo period. Visitors can also try such delicacies as seared bonito, Shimizu mackerel sashimi and deep-fried moray eel for which Kochi, situated on Tosa Bay, is famous.
