Take a sip of Japan! Japanese liquor campaign

  As part of the Tourism Japan Action Plan, a government initiative aimed at attracting more tourists to the country, the government (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Japan Tourism Agency), international hub airports (Narita, Haneda, Kansai and Centrair) and the alcohol producers of Japan will join hands in a campaign to publicize Japanese liquor (sake and shochu) to foreign tourists.

1.Overview of the Take a Sip of Japan! Japanese Liquor Campaign

Details To publicize Japanese sake and shochu to foreign tourists, liquor tasting booths will be set up in the area beyond outbound passport control at the four international hub airports. The campaign will be held in conjunction with the Sakagura Tourism initiative of the Japan Tourism Agency to demonstrate the process of making Japanese sake and shochu as well as the traditional customs and tourism resources associated with the breweries.

2.Overview of the Campaign at Narita International Airport

(1)Campaign Booths

Special booths will be set up in the area beyond outbound passport control for tasting and sales of Japanese sake and shochu. During the campaign, a wide variety of quality liquor will be available from all parts of Japan (Each brewery will take part over a period of two weeks). Breweries from Hokkaido, Tohoku and Kyushu regions are scheduled to take part in October.
