Our company (Narita International Airport Corporation) started the "Project to reuse resources in Narita Airport," a joint project on resources circulation, in cooperation with ANA Holdings and Japan Airlines.
Outline of the project
The Project aims to circulate resources by collecting packing films and wooden transportation materials that are discarded after the transportation of air cargoes, and utilizing them in Narita Airport by processing into recycled products.
In Narita Airport, which is ranked at fifth in the world (FY2022) in terms of the amount of international cargoes handled, many wastes related to the transportation of air cargoes are generated. Although airport-related business operators had been addressing the problem before, each company responded to and cooperated with the approach from our company, and under cooperation from waste management companies, a new scheme for resources circulation in Narita Airport was established. We will work on increasing the number of participating companies and expanding the items to be covered, and work on the further expansion of the project in the future.
