Change to Regulations Concerning Lighters On Board


Effective 4 August 2007, the US Government has decided to introduced some amendments to the ban on lighters on board aircraft in relation to all aircraft operated by US airlines and all aircraft arriving or departing US cities, including Guam and Saipan.
 
Details

Lighters must not be placed in check-in luggage.
Carry on luggage may contain only 1 lighter per person.
Prohibited lighters
Torch* lighters (turbo lighters) continue to be prohibited on aircraft operated by US airlines and aircraft arriving or departing US cities including Guam and Saipan.

* Torch lighters: Internal combustion gas lighters for use in strong wind and rain.
