Narita International Airport Corporation hosts the “Narita International Airport Photo Contest 2026 – share your NARITA Airport –” with the aim of showcasing your favorite images captured at Narita Airport which will promote and encourage visits to both the airport and its surrounding areas.

About the Contest

This photo contest welcomes an acclaimed aviation photographer, Charlie Furusho as the judge, and invites submissions capturing the unique charm of Narita Airport—such as its seasonal landscapes, a wide variety of aircraft, and terminal scenes that serve as places of encounters and new departures. Share your favorite moments of Narita Airport!

Follow the "narita.airport_official" Instagram account and the Tokyo Camera Club Campaign Instagram account. Post your photo on Instagram with the designated hashtags during the contest period (June 25 (Thu) to August 31 (Mon), 2026), and your entry is complete!

Hashtags must be added either at the time of posting or within 24 hours after posting, and during the contest period.

How to Participate and Winner Announcement

②Post your photo

  • Post your photo(s) on Instagram with the specified hashtags within the contest period.

③Final verification process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified in mid- October 2026 for the final verification process.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message in Japanese
  • Candidates will be requested to submit their original photo data* by a specified date for copyright verification. Please note that we will only be contacting shortlisted candidates.

Submission Requirements

Entries must meet at least one of the following requirements

  1. 1.The photo includes aircraft taking off from or landing at Narita Airport.
  2. 2.The photo features iconic elements of Narita Airport, such as terminals or airport facilities.
  3. 3.The photo expresses the seasonal colors (“SHIKISAI”) of Narita Airport.

Winner Announcement & Use of Winning Works

Winning entries will be announced in late October, 2026, on the special page of the official Narita Airport website and on its official social media channels. Selected winning works are also planned to be featured in Narita Airport promotional materials, including the Narita Airport Digital Calendar 2027 (scheduled to be published on the official website).

  • Please refrain from submitting works that have been altered in a way that changes factual content, including digital compositing, manipulation, object removal, or the use of generative AI.
  • Entries featuring aircraft with character or special livery, private business jets, or government aircraft are not accepted. Photos taken in restricted or prohibited areas are also not permitted.
  • Still images extracted from video footage are not eligible for submission.
  • The use of stock images or materials for compositing is not permitted.

Use of Personal Information

We will not be handling any personal information of individuals residing outside of Japan.

Eligibility

・Participants must reside in Japan (the prize must be shipped to an address within Japan).

・Participants must have an Instagram account.

・By submitting an entry (posting), participants are deemed to have agreed to all application terms and conditions, including the handling of personal information and other important notices.

・There are no restrictions on the equipment used to take the submitted photos.

・Photos taken in the past are also eligible.

・Entries consisting of multiple combined images are not accepted. While carousel posts (multiple images in one post) will be reviewed, each image will be judged individually as a single photograph.

・Submitted works must be original creations for which the applicant solely owns all rights, including copyright. Please note that using images from other websites, social media, blogs, etc. without permission may constitute a violation of copyright or other rights. In addition, if identifiable people appear in the photo, prior consent for portrait rights must be obtained.

・The use of composite images made from stock/free materials is not permitted.

・The contest is open regardless of amateur/professional status, nationality, gender, or age. However, participants under 18 years old must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before applying. If an participant under 18 submits an entry, it will be deemed that such consent has been obtained.

Disclaimer

・For security reasons, photography of security screening areas (including security equipment and security personnel) is strictly prohibited.

・Photography in areas managed by government authorities (such as immigration and customs), as well as in shops, lounges, check-in counters, and similar facilities, must be conducted only with the permission of the respective operators or managing entities.

・Unauthorized photography of airport staff (including airline staff) is not permitted in order to protect privacy and portrait rights.

・For safety reasons, photography on roads or in parking areas is prohibited.

・Please refrain from taking photographs while walking, as this may inconvenience other passengers.

・Please avoid occupying a specific area for an extended period and take photographs with consideration for others around you.

・The use of stepladders, tripods, or large equipment is prohibited in the elevated area (“Mountain Deck”) of the observation deck.

・Even for personal photography, please consult with us in advance if your activity involves large equipment or requires a large number of staff.

・The use of wireless devices (such as video transmitters) requires prior approval. Please consult with us in advance.

・If you fail to comply with the above rules, or if nuisance behavior such as shouting or running is observed, you may be asked to stop photographing and/or delete your images.

・Applicants must provide accurate information for all required fields when submitting their entry. The organizer shall not be held responsible for any disqualification or damages resulting from incorrect information.

・Submitted works do not need to be unpublished. However, to avoid any issues, if your work has been submitted to or is planned to be submitted to other contests, or has previously won awards and can be identified, please ensure compliance with the rules of those contests. Works published in non-commercial publications produced by the applicant, on personal social media or blogs, or exhibited in non-juried exhibitions are eligible.

・Copyright of submitted works shall, in principle, remain with the entrant even after submission.

・Entries cannot be withdrawn once submitted.

・Entrants are responsible for keeping backup copies of their submitted works.

・Submissions by physical delivery or mail are not accepted, and submitted materials will not be returned.

・If it is discovered that the same individual has received multiple awards, some awards may be revoked or revised in accordance with the intent of this contest.

・Award recipients agree that Narita International Airport Corporation (including third parties authorized by it) may use, publish, reproduce, and publicly transmit the award-winning works free of charge and without time limitation for promotional purposes by Narita International Airport Corporation and Tokyo Camera Club.

Submitted works may also be used in the same manner upon prior consent from the photographer. Entrants agree not to exercise any moral rights against Tokyo Camera Club. or Narita International Airport Corporation.

・Entrants agree that Narita International Airport Corporation may edit or modify submitted works—such as cropping, applying image effects, or adding music and sound effects—without obtaining prior consent from the entrant.

・Award recipients agree that Tokyo Camera Club. (including authorized third parties) may use, publish, reproduce, and publicly transmit their name, submitted works, and location information free of charge and without time limitation in systems displaying such information, including those provided to third parties. Award recipients further agree not to exercise any moral rights related to the award-winning works.

・Entrants must either own all copyrights and related rights (including portrait rights) to the submitted works or have obtained prior permission from the rights holders. If people are included in the work, the entrant is responsible for obtaining prior consent and ensuring that no infringement of portrait or privacy rights occurs. For minors, consent from a parent or guardian is required.

・If the work includes shrines, temples, commercial facilities, or similar properties, please obtain necessary permission for photography and submission beforehand. Entries including identifiable signage, neon signs, brand logos, content that violates public order and morals, or visible address information are not permitted.

・If, after selection, a third party files a claim of copyright infringement, portrait rights violation, or privacy violation regarding a submitted work, the award may be revoked following discussion.

・When photographing works belonging to third parties and using them as materials for editing or compositing, this may constitute infringement of intellectual property rights. Please obtain permission from the rights holder in advance.

・Eligible works must be photographs taken by the entrant using a camera device (including digital cameras, film cameras, and smartphones). While digital editing is permitted, entries deemed excessively altered at the discretion of the organizer may be disqualified or have their award revoked. No explanations will be provided regarding such decisions, and the organizer assumes no responsibility for any resulting damages.

・Works that have been altered using generative AI, or that include AI-generated elements that do not exist in reality, are not eligible. Entries deemed by the organizer to involve such processing may be disqualified or have their award revoked without explanation, and the organizer assumes no responsibility for any resulting damages.

・In the event of any legal issues arising from a submitted work, the entrant shall resolve such matters at their own responsibility and expense, and Tokyo Camera Club. and Narita International Airport Corporation shall bear no responsibility.

・If an entry violates these rules, public order and morals, includes defamatory or harmful behavior toward other participants, involves anti-social forces, or is otherwise deemed inappropriate by the organizer, the award may be revoked.

・These terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.

・Inquiries regarding the judging criteria or results of this contest will not be accepted.

・Award rights cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.

・If prizes are provided by sponsoring or partner companies: such prizes are supplied by those companies, and the organizer assumes no responsibility if, due to circumstances such as bankruptcy, suspension of operations, or other unforeseen events, the prizes or related services cannot be provided. The organizer is also not responsible for any issues or damages arising from the use of prizes.

・All expenses other than the prizes shall be borne by the entrants.

・The secretariat reserves the right to amend these rules and take any necessary actions to ensure the proper operation of the contest.

・By entering the contest, entrants agree to follow the operational decisions of the secretariat and shall not raise objections to such operations.

・This contest is organized by Narita International Airport Corporation and operated by Tokyo Camera Club. Meta and Instagram are not sponsors, endorsers, or administrators of this contest and are not associated with it in any way. Entrants agree to this condition.

・Tokyo Camera Club and Narita International Airport Corporation shall not be held responsible for any damages arising from interruptions or cancellations of Facebook, Instagram, or this contest. The content of this contest is subject to change without prior notice.
