Connecting Corridor in Terminal 2 Receives Special Citation from the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America
The connecting corridor in Terminal 2 at Narita International Airport received a special citation for the interior lighting design category in the 2016 IES Illumination Awards hosted by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. This is the first time for an airport in Japan to win this highly acclaimed award.
The corridor makes effective use of daylight during the day and automatically switches to electric lights when it becomes dark outside to ensure sufficient lighting while also conserving energy.
The lighting fixtures that were recognized with this award can be found at the following locations within the connecting corridor in Terminal 2.
The fixtures shown in the orange frame are viewable to arriving passengers, the rest are viewable to departing passengers.
